About

chris says…

The basic story goes like this: I caught a ride to San Francisco with my buddy, Brian Hata, to help out Steven Wishnack with a film project for his class.

After we finished filming everything, we started loading up Brian’s car with our equipment. I brought two bags and a box full of stuff for the shoot, so I had to make two trips to the car. In between one of our trips, someone stole my two bags which contained pretty much every electronic thing I owned that could possibly fit into two bags.

more details

Pretty soon, each member of stop tape will have their own version of the story on this site, but for now you can check out steven’s version of what happened.

donations

Our goal is to raise $5,000 (it’s a long shot, but you need some sort of goal to get started) through donations from cool people, like yourself. We hope to buy back some of the equipment that was stolen so we can get back to work as soon as possible (plus, I kind of need a Mac for my job).

Until then, recording for the upcoming stop tape podcast and My Mean Girl Audio is on hold. Also, not having some of the equipment that was stolen is really causing set backs for some upcoming projects of mine, so I’m definitely looking forward to getting back into the swing of things as soon as possible.

stuff that was stolen

Things that were stolen range from “pretty damn expensive equipment” to “damnit, I wanted to keep that until my death”. This list will be continuously updated as I remember what exactly I put in those two bags before heading out to San Francisco that day.

I’ll also try to write some posts on the blog about some of the stolen items when I get a chance.
