first day’s progress by chris rhee

It’s been a little over a day since this website went up and I’ve gotten $250 in donations thanks to a handful of generous donors. Every penny is much appreciated — and my expectations were blown away (especially by the people who were giving much more than the $5 we’re asking for).

This morning, I woke up to an inbox full of donation notices and I was expecting maybe 3 or 4 donors for the first day. It’s a beautiful thing to see so many people pitching in to help out in a situation like this. Thanks everyone, for all your help.

Chris – I hate to earmark my donation, but please do not use my $5 to replace the lost Everyday with Rachel Ray magazines. Her and her “yum-o” phrase completely annoy me.

I would rather see you replace lots’o pens with my $5.

Thank you.

keli: Haha, don’t worry. I don’t think I can replace those — they were mostly old issues that aren’t in print anymore. I’ll make a note to not buy any Rachael Ray brand materials. I’m trying to get a replacement Mac more than anything at this point so I can get back to doing work in a better environment. Thanks a lot for your donation!
